Greetings and Welcome

Grigsby Consulting LLC provides Intellectual Capital for Your Business by leveraging David Grigsby's skills and experience with software, technology and business process integration.

What I do: I solve problems as one of your trusted advisors.

How do I do it: I use intellectual capital, technology, tactical business processes coupled with tactical and strategic hands on experience to solve real pain points to maximize and generate revenue streams while reducing operational expense and duplication of effort.

Who do I generally work for: Small to medium businesses where the "Do It Yourself" limits have been reached by the owner or staff and medium to large businesses on a team as a Corp to Corp (C2C) subcontractor. Notice for Recruiters - Grigsby Consulting LLC is for hire on a Corp to Corp (C2C) subcontract basis; however, David Grigsby is not for hire as a contractor.

What area of business do you focus on: Pre-Sales as this is a real pain point in most companies due to the economy as this is less of a black art and more science of methodology and positive persistence now.

So you’re an expert: Maybe in a random room or gathering of professionals, but I would not call myself one, knowingly, but I like the synonym; proficient, as Merriam-Webster Image of External Link and Wikionary defines it. Image of External Link A general definition of an expert per Merriam-Webster Image of External Link and Wikipedia is Image of External Link "Doing something for 10 years or 10,000 hours"

Brief Explanation: The reason that I won't call myself an expert is that I am not that confident anyone is, including the inventor of the device, technology or methodology. My experience is based on a simple premise that the inventor (first expert) probably discovered their invention as a byproduct of their real research and passion. I have worked at many companies, like most professional developers, software architects and consultants. I have worked for Microsoft in Redmond,WA and know my limits, as I test them regularly. Microsoft taught me that the most important assets I bring to the table are Intellectual Capital and willingness to take calculated risks. Should I fail, which I rarely do, I fail fast, communicate it appropriately, learn fast with post mortems and documentation, and then apply what I've learned to the next engagement. When I fail, I learn great lessons that are not generally in books or isn't given away freely. I am "Commercially Adequate" in many roles and disciplines that are already defined or as yet to be defined. Simply stated, I deliver, get the job done on time, and within or under budget.

Introduction Letter

Grigsby Consulting LLC is a micro-business consultancy designed to offer the breadth of the areas of consulting I practice and operated out of the Carmel Arts and Design District in the City of Carmel, which is in Hamilton County Image of External Link , Indiana.

Here is an Executive Summary boiling it down to more than "Intellectual Capital for Your Business" but less than my complete background.

Executive Summary

Currently, I am focused on Software as a Service (SaaS) application integration between on-premise and cloud applications using Salesforce, DocuSign, and Exacttarget to streamline virtual offices and remote personnel to increase revenue production and market reach using new media technologies like LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. I enjoy the freedom of being a consultant and the influence that a great consultant can have on customers, product development lifecycles, education, and documentation. I have an insatiable desire for continued learning, new experiences, critical feedback, and breaking through existing boundaries. I am a natural driver preferring to be instrumental to the process of change while influencing the necessary order, assessments, and clarity so team members can execute to deliver the required deliverables on time and under budget while maintaining good morale. I have a honed understanding of commercially adequate and enjoy exceeding expectations. I generally excel in customer satisfaction and enable success for team members while delivering positive results quickly using minimal resources and oversight, by leveraging a strong desire to achieve, coupled with a diverse experience and insight.

Introduction

Developing and integrating applications since 1983 requires modification of skills and tools to the never ending changes in languages and platforms.

Projects have incorporated assembly language Printer Driver for a 24 pin printer for AutoCAD, TSR's, boot loaders, Basic, Visual Basic, VB.NET, Access, Visual FoxPro, C & C++, C#, client applications integrated into office, CRM, accounting and imaging packages.

Many projects have been client or web based enterprise line of business applications that have involved me from the UI in win forms, HTML, CSS, ASP or ASP.NET, to Business Logic in many languages in the middle tier components and leveraged web services communicating to the backend messaging and database services and repositories.

Capable of designing, developing, deploying and debugging a customer's integrated application
from top to bottom with an accelerated ramp up time compared to other consultants.

In summary, my vast experience in the field with clients field applications married with work done
in product and support groups will enable me to provide increased revenue client retention among project
success by being an addition to your team.

Capable of solving problems by cost effectively leveraging skills in:
  • Software technology
  • Relationship building
  • Understanding the requirements
  • Learning from critical feedback
  • Meeting expectations
I have worked with Microsoft SQL Server since version 4.2 in 1994 when the command line tool OSQL was the "interface."

Whether it was Buy.com, Siebel, the Microsoft Product or Premier ISV support Group, I have been involved in designing, building, testing, tuning and deploying mobile applications using MS SQL Server, .NET and MS Embedded technologies in large scale field environments.

Regardless of whether it is in-house applications development for on premise systems or SaaS in the cloud leveraging a procedural or object oriented language, binary, hex or decimal, in assembler, JSCRIPT or C#, I can keep it straight by seeing it working in my mind's eye, communicate it with all stakeholders, get buy-in, and deliver it to the customer as a working solution; on time, in or under budget, and with requirements and expectations met.

Most practice areas of my consulting are focused on Information Technology, Business Process Automation and Operational Management which covers disciplines like Web Data Mining and Harvesting, Business Intelligence, Application Integration and Development of Web, Cloud, Server and Desktop.

My consulting services Image of External Link in these areas are tailored to scale the "Front Image of External Link and Back Office Image of External Link Systems" used in most businesses, from the micro-business up to the medium enterprise.

Those services are based on operational management needs of businesses with 1 to 500 employees and yearly sales revenue below $100 million.

I enjoy working with large businesses when I am directly reporting to the project sponsor or key decision maker as a Corp to Corp (C2C) subcontractor.

I focus my passion, energy and skills on micro to medium businesses due to the personal satisfaction I derive from working closely with the stake holder.

Each consulting engagement is typically delivered in a short time frame, usually less than 60 days, to maximize “Return on Investment Image of External Link to the client. I thrive on variety, new challenges and short time frames.
